Many of us find therapy helpful when our usual coping strategies for managing distress or unhappiness are no longer working. This may come about by experiencing a crisis such as a period of depression or anxiety, a bereavement, when questions emerge around sexual orientation, when a relationship ends or if we’re struggling with past/present trauma; alternatively it can be when we feel a general sense of not getting what we need out of life.

I believe therapy helps us to become aware of what happens for us when we are struggling. This can then enable us to identify what helps or detracts us from getting what we need to live a happy, fulfilling life. Once we are aware of, and understand what we do, we can explore alternatives in order to deal with our difficulties more effectively. Some of this work may require reflection on the past however the thrust of gestalt psychotherapy is a focus on the present and to vibrantly explore new alternatives.

I offer a safe, supportive and gently challenging space to help you explore what’s happening and how you can use this knowledge to live more successfully. I also bring to my work enthusiasm, commitment and a sense of humor; therapy can be fun and enlivening as well as hard work at times!

I provide short or long term therapy, depending on what you are looking for and what will meet your needs most effectively.

The sessions are 50 minutes long.
