About me

I am an experienced UKCP Registered Gestalt Psychotherapist. I have an MSc and PG Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy, a PG Diploma in Art Therapy and am a qualified Supervisor. I initially trained as an Art Therapist and have been practicing since 1991. I have worked in a variety of settings which include: adult and adolescent NHS mental health services; a national sexual abuse consultancy working with adults, adolescents and children and at a university providing and developing a therapy service for staff. Having had a private practice for 19 years alongside my work within organisations and institutions I am now working solely as an independent practitioner providing psychotherapy, supervision and training.

I work in a non-directive manner from a humanist perspective, and am committed to engaging fully in the relationship from a supportive, empathic, respectful, challenging and non-judgmental place.

I am committed to anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory practice and work alongside the Code of Ethics and Practice of GPTI & UKCP. I welcome clients and supervisees from different backgrounds and cultures to my own and my practice is LGB&T friendly.

I bring to my work enthusiasm, commitment and a sense of humor; therapy, supervision and training can be fun and enlivening as well as hard work at times!
